Analog Devices has a new differential amplifier calculator

Jul 9 2009 2:03AM | Permalink |Comments (1) |

I got a press release from ADI saying they have just released a calculator to help you design differential amplifiers. This downloadable calculator is a duplicate to their web-based differential amplifier tool. Here is an app note ADI did about diff amps. When I did my article about web-based analog tools, several companies told me that they were doing both online and downloadable versions of the same tool. It seems that there are many engineers in China that don’t have web access as well as many American engineers that prefer not to use a web tool, especially if it is slower or requires an extensive registration in order to use.

There was a time when the op amp WAS the computer and the user interface to get the result was an oscilloscope. Just like the slide rule, I think I was in one of the last years to teach them, and have labs with them, in school. It'd be cool to get an app note for op amps designing op amps instead of this newfangled web/Intel silliness.....
