Back in early May, I wrote about the flash memory-augmented HDD that Microsoft and Samsung showcased at WinHEC. Earlier this week, at the Intel Developer Forum in Taiwan, the other half of the WinTel alliance unveiled its twist on the concept, the 'Robson' technology. While NAND's fast rewrite speeds and low cost-per-MByte make it a natural fit in an application like this, it's still a bit surreal to see Intel not advocating its own flash memory flavour.
