This blog post references my feature article 'Cutting the Carbon Cord: Is the Answer Blowing In the Wind?' in EDN's December 15, 2006 edition.
Turbines, as my article discusses, are capable of harnessing the Earth's latent wind power in order to generate electricity, thereby reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. In an interesting twist, they're also capable of generating electricity from fossil fuels, thereby providing a locally-sited alternative to traditional distributed AC power.
