This blog post references my cover story 'Home Transportation: Benchmarking Powerline, 802.11, and Ethernet' in EDN's August 2, 2007 edition. It's one of a series of web addendums to the print writeup.
First off, here's the raw data. The Zip file contains the ASCII reports generated by Iperf, along with client-side screenshots in JPEG format. The directory tree is divided into 'desktop PC' and 'notebook PC' folders, with subdirectories underneath each folder for the various networking technologies, as well as both iPerf client and server configurations depending on the particular test. For powerline networking, directory naming differentiates between the office-to-swamp cooler closet and office-to-hut spurs. I found no easy way to automate the transfer of report data into the Excel spreadsheet that formed the foundation of the article's table, so if you notice any errors that resulted from my manual copy-and-paste transposition, please alert me asap and I'll work with the online production team to fix 'em.
Next, you'll find a bulleted list of some of the writeups that I archived in the process of researching this story, which I found particularly interesting for one reason or another. They're in no particular order (sorry) but I hope you'll also find them useful. See the main article's references for additional information sources.
