Consumer electronics plus multicore systems on a chip

I spied a nice article in Portable Design by Steve Leibson, former EDN editor-in-chief and current EDN contributing editor. It is about the road ahead in consumer electronics. When I wrote Steve to ask if he had linked to it, he said no, but that I could, and also pointed me to this more technical article over at EE Times dealing with multi-core systems on a chip.
