ST Micro triac—Press Release of the day

Remember when I told you that you should check out ST Micro and how you would be surprised by all the things they sell*?  Well today I got a Press Release from Carol Brown about the ACA1086SAC Switch(pdf) they make.  Now they call it an AC Switch but the symbol sure looks like a triac to me.  Anyway it is good for 600 volts and can handle 100 mA and, best yet, comes in a TO-92 or SO-8 package.  They cost 25 cents in 10k quantities.

*Wordsmith joke: Daniel Webster’s wife walks in on him kissing another woman.  She exclaims: “Daniel Webster!  I am surprised at you!”  Daniel replies: “No my dear, it is I that am surprised, you are astonished.”  So I guess you would not be surprised by the ST Micro offerings, since you knew you were going to their website and all.  No, better to say you will be astonished by all the ST Micro offerings.
