Microsoft virus grounds French air force

February 9, 2009

Some headlines write themselves. I guess we should go easy on Microsoft because they did warn everybody of a potential virus and issued a patch. The French, who Americans seem to love to make fun of because they were not enthusiastic supporters on our Iraqi war fiasco, neglected the warnings. Perhaps they were busy or perhaps they thought that Microsoft products really don’t get viruses that often. In any event, its good to know that it is not just corporate IT departments that have to suffer with all the vulnerabilities of Microsoft products. And before you give the French any guff, go look at the Statue of Liberty and also remember that if it were not for French financial support and warships in the American revolutionary war, we would all be subjects of the crown still. Viva la France.

I seem to recall a little bitty War ware we got the frenchies castanets out of the fire. Seems to me if anyone is an ingrate its France. But I do like the little statue they gave us in new york harbor. But what realy gets me is why any sain person would base any critical systems on windows, cripes ware are these peoples heads. And on the same idea, why would any sain person let a company in a forein country create software for the Army, Airforce FBI, CIA, etc.'s computer systems security?
