The fine folks at our sister publication EETimes are putting on an engineer get together here in Silicon Valley. It will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (PT) in San Jose, CA. From the invite:

What is it?

Fission Chips is a monthly offline meet-up for engineers and tech professionals to explore the exciting new opportunities in the tech space, where they can interact in an informal setting, with some drinks, nibbles, speakers and competitions thrown in to boot!
