Synplicity to acquire ASIC prototyping company HARDI Electronics for $24.2 million
Synplicity has just announced that it is in the process of acquiring ASIC prototyping PCB company HARDI Electronics AB for $24.2 million in cash.
Up until the acquisition, Synplicity has offered FPGA synthesis and debug tools as well Certify, which is a tool to help ASIC designers program FPGA based ASIC prototyping boards from companies such as HARDI and the Dini Group. Now with the HARDI acquisition, the company owns the prototyping systems too.
According to a release issued by the company, Synplicity will continue to support its world-wide customer base using FPGA prototypes built from custom-designed prototyping boards and those using off-the-shelf boards from other manufacturers through the company’s Partners in Prototyping program.
The acquisition is expected to close in June .
