NAB 2008: More Tidbits On Mobile Television

My February and March two-part article series extensively (IMHO, of course) covered the topic of mobile television, and last week’s three-part post series updated you with the latest and greatest news coming out of NAB. Among other worth-your-reading-time information, Aldo Cugnini’s writeup provides historical perspective into ATSC-M/H’s modulation enhancement predecessor, E-VSB, which (via its use of Reed-Solomon and trellis coding-based forward error correction) delivered an average 6dB signal margin boost over 8-VSB with static receivers but still proved susceptible to severe multipath conditions (i.e. in moving vehicles).
