More Microsoft Freebies

Following up on yesterday's free-as-in-beer post, a Slashdot thread from earlier this morning alerted me to the presence of more free software from Microsoft. This time, development tools are the focus: Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition, Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition, Visual C# 2005 Express Edition, Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition, and Visual J# 2005 Express Edition are all free as long as you download them before November 7th. So get to it, folks! Note, however, that no commercial software development is allowed; per the terms and conditions, they're only 'for the hobbyist, novice, and student developer'. Note, too, that the Express Editions only generate code that runs under the .Net Framework.
