64 GBytes...Solid State...$99.99???!!!
September 17, 2008
Frakkin’ (hey, if the FCC approved it, I can use it here, too) incredible. That’s all I can say. Earlier today, I posted a writeup that talked about the plunging prices and burgeoning capacities of both hard drives and solid-state storage. At the time, I expressed profound amazement that it was possible to purchase a 64 GByte SATA-interface SSD for $160 after rebate. And here we are, less than 12 hours later, and that same 64 GByte SSD has plummeted to $99.99 (again after rebate).
Frakkin’ incredible. Get to it, folks…Techbargains says that Newegg’s inventory is limited! Meanwhile, I’ll get back to initializing, partitioning and formatting HDDs and SSDs in advance of benchmarking ‘em for early-November results publication…
