Jet Lag Dread: Lots O'Questions Instead?
I’ll be in Taiwan all next week, my first visit since 1996 when I managed Intel’s µBGA flash memory package introduction and personally represented the company in the Asia-Pacific geography. This time, I’m meeting with a number of companies reflective of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s aspirations to "shift to a branding business model" (translation; we want to be retail brands in our own right, not just designers and manufacturers of widgets that other companies slap their names on).
One effective way I’ve found to surmount the inevitable jet lag resulting from such substantial and speedy time zone leaps is to ask lots of good questions, thereby stimulating engaging discussions. That’s where you come in. Here’s the list of folks I’ll be seeing:
- Acer
- ASUSTek Computer
- BenQ
- D-Link
- Giga-byte Technology
- High Tech Computer (HTC)
- Hsinchu Science Park
- Industrial Technology Research Institute
- ZyXEL Communications
Via private email or (ideally) public comment on this post, please suggest one or several questions you’d like me to ask the folks I’ll be meeting with. Please specify whether your queries are directed at a specific company or more generally applicable to the entire list above. Thanks in advance for your inputs; I’ll report back the results after I return Stateside.
p.s…and no, I’m not interested in entertaining your requests for ’sample’ cellphones, LCDs, PC motherboards, routers, etc ![]()
