It's Oddly Reassuring To Read....

July 18, 2007

….that mine isn’t the only recent sub-optimal experience with AT&T’s DSL staff ;-) Guy Kawasaki’s transcript of his travails is pretty hilarious. And I completely agree with him; in the near term, at least, Apple’s U.S. success with the iPhone will be highly contingent on partner AT&T’s performance, both as it relates to data and voice quality and in terms of customer support competence. Anyone want to guess how long and detailed a commitment list Apple made AT&T sign before Steve Jobs blessed the deal? And anyone want to guess how long it’ll be before Apple, citing under-performance to those commitments, moves to sever its exclusive tether to a ‘cingular’ U.S. partner?

Followup: Like I was saying (also see the Slashdot commentary on the story)….
