Editor's Note: Congratulations To Brian Dipert On His Neal Award Win

Pardon the interruption, but knowing that Brian won’t toot his own horn, I am temporarily taking over his blog to pass along some great news. On Friday, Brian’s Brain won a Neal Award—the Pulitzer of the trade-publication universe—for best blog. Brian accepted the award in person at the 54th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards luncheon in New York City.

Please join me in congratulating Brian on this truly prestigious, and well-deserved, honor. While you’re at it, please accept my thanks and give yourselves a hand as well; your participation helps to make this blog a success, and surely factored into the Neal judges’ decision.

Dear Brian, A hearty congrats! It is an achievement to be very proud of and I believe well deserved. As an info monger in the HDD industry I pay particular attention to your musings regarding data storage, primarily because of the systems knowledge that you lend to the subject and the articulate manner in which you construct your ideas and observations. I've been a fan for a long time and it is nice to know that what I felt was noteworthy is a view shared by the award givers. It is rather like betting on a winning pony! Dear Jonathan Williams, Ironically it was the PC ecosystem that I started thinking about as the 'poster child' of the concept, after posting my prior comment. And...hmmm....I was shoveling snow in rarified air, thankfully under blue skies, at the time. Were you spying on me via my webcam? ;-)
