Today's Apple News, In Thirty Words Or Less...

October 14, 2008

…concisely summarized, because I know how busy you all are.

Apple snubs Intel’s Montevina, goes with Nvidia instead, partially leveraging Hybrid SLI. Three months after everyone else went with Montevina (think different?). And on the eve of next-generation Nehalem.

$1299 (new 13.3" MacBook design), $1799 (refreshed 13.3" MacBook Air, shipping in early November…I see that Apple’s wisely whacked the pricetags of first-gen "refurbs", at least some of which I suspect will be inventory-closeout new units), $1999 (new 15.4" MacBook Pro design), $2799 (refreshed 17" MacBook Pro) and up…and don’t forget about the $899 24" widescreen LCD (which, for that outrageous price, doesn’t even include integrated Apple TV capabilities). In the midst of perhaps the biggest fiscal crisis since the Great Depression. Good luck with that, Steve.

Big whoop.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming…
