A Dashing Dash Deal
The more I use my T-Mobile Dash, which I reviewed for y’all a bit over a month ago, the more I adore it. I don’t think I’ve mentioned before that I bought it used off Ebay; one of the key advantages of GSM phones is that you can easily move your SIM card from one phone to another (a fact that’s abundantly convenient when it comes to product reviews, too). As such, my original battery didn’t have the greatest between-charges operating life, but a BoxWave replacement resolved that glitch.
I’m easily able to keep on top of my voluminous incoming email and blog comments via Gmail for Mobile and Opera Mini, as long as I have an available (and not voice traffic-overloaded) GPRS or EDGE connection. And I’m even beginning to use the Dash as a subscription music player in conjunction with a set of A2PD headphones; I only wish it supported the ‘HC’ high-capacity variant of the microSD format.
If you’re considering following in my footsteps, you might be interested in a deal published earlier today that caught my eye. $100 in your pocket after two rebates, with a 1 GByte microSD card tossed in too, in exchange for a two-year service contract? Not bad at all. And it’s even for a Windows Mobile 5 OS-based unit, so those of you (like me) still running Outlook 2000 won’t be out of luck.
