AMD: Banish The Hype, Barcelona's Here

September 11, 2007

Allow me to draw your attention to my post-intro event technical analysis of AMD’s finally-unveiled quad-core Opteron microprocessor, written very late last night (and very early this morning) and now live on EDN’s website. It’s a followup to my earlier writeup posted last Thursday. As usual, I’ve not resisted the urge to take controversial stances; your feedback is as always welcome either here or there.

To prove to you that I really was at LucasFilms’ Letterman Digital Arts Center Premier Theater in the Presidio last night, I snapped a few photos as evidence. Click on a picture for a full-res version.

Chewie and a fan

…and AMD-vs-Intel performance-per-watt positioning
