Queue Kudos
The theme of the September issue of ACM Queue magazine is 'Make Way for Microprocessors', and it contains an outstanding series of articles; 'The Future of Microprocessors' by Kunle Olukotun and Lance Hammond of Stanford University, 'Extreme Software Scaling' by Richard McDougall of Sun Microsystems, 'The Price of Performance: An Economic Case for Chip Multiprocessing' by Luiz André Barroso of Google, 'Software and the Concurrency Revolution' by Herb Sutter and James Larus of Microsoft, and 'Multicore CPUs for the Masses' by Aache Creeger of Emergent Technology Associates. The content of this issue (Volume 3, Number 7) will eventually make its way to the magazine's website (part of the July/August issue content is up there now); if you'd prefer not to wait, get your free print subscription here.
9/29/05 followup: 'The Future of Microprocessors' is now available online. More generally, here's the link to the September issue, where other articles' links will appear as they go live on the Queue website.
