Revenge of the Dither

Robert Heron from ExtremeTech caught one of the preview showings of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith last Thursday at Sony Metreon in San Francisco, the site of my ill-fated Episode II digital projection experiment of a few years back. He reports that the theater complex has upgraded to 1080p-capable DLP projectors (higher resolution than what I encountered last month and last summer) and the visual results were stunning. Reviews of the film are also on average quite positive. I'm catching a midnight showing tonight (although I will be leaving my Princess Leia gold bikini costume at home); I don't think that the Downtown Plaza complex has digital projection systems yet but I'll report back tomorrow if there's anything notable either in the images or the plot behind them.
