Vishay Intertechnology VJ HVArc Guard: MLCCs feature surface arc-over prevention

Designed to prevent surface arc-over, the VJ HVArc Guard surface-mount X7R MLCCs (multilayer-ceramic-chip capacitor) features a 250 to 1000V-dc voltage and a 100-pF to 0.27-µF capacitance. The devices provide maximum capacitance in high-voltage ratings and an increased voltage breakdown. The MLCCs target applications including buck-boost dc/dc converters, voltage multipliers for flyback converters, and lighting-ballast circuits. The VJ HVArc Guard costs 14 cents.
