VadaTech AMC220: AMC dual-port packet processor features socket-layer services to Cavium multicore processor

September 18, 2008

The AMC220 packet processor suits dual 10-GbE AMCs based on the AMC.1 specification. Preconfigured as a TCP-offload engine, the card provides socket-layer services to a Cavium Octeon CN56xx3CN57xx multicore processor. The device can load over a four-lane PCIe interface or using optional flash memory. The host processor enables the card to process Ethernet packets at line rate, reducing the new-standard overhead for packet processing on embedded processors. The basic configuration for the AMC220 costs $2000.
