TT Electronics CVW and CVF: Flameproof, vertical-mount power resistors come in wirewound and film options

June 11, 2007

Suiting use in harsh environments, the flameproof, commercial-grade, cement-housed CVW wirewound and CVF film power-resistor series have a vertical-mount configuration for a reduced footprint. The wirewound resistors feature a 0.1 to 910Ω resistance range, and the film resistors have a 28Ω to 200 kΩ resistance range. The devices have ±5 and ±10% standard tolerances, ±400 ppm/8C TCRs (temperature coefficients of resistance) at less than 20Ω, ±350 ppm/°C TCRs at more than 20Ω and a –55 to +275°C temperature range. Depending on resistance values, the CVW and CVF series resistors sell for 8.5 to 17 cents (10,000).
