STMicroelectronics LIS244AL: Analog accelerometer integrates MEMS sensor, a CMOS-interface chip

August 15, 2007

A new addition to the vendor’s low-g linear-accelerometer line, the two-axis LIS244AL analog accelerometer combines a robust, dual-axis MEMS (microelectromechanical-systems) sensor and a CMOS-interface chip providing two simultaneous, real-time analog outputs. The outputs feature a lateral output for the side-to-side direction and a longitudinal output for forward and backward directions. The device has a 10,000g shock survivability and provides a ±2g full-scale output range. Available in a 4×4×1.5-mm plastic package, the LIS244AL costs $2.30 (10,000).
