Allegro A3423: Hall-effect sensor indicates speed and direction of a target

Aiming at speed- and direction-sensing applications using encoder-ring-magnet targets, the dual-channel A3423 Hall-effect sensor provides output signals indicating the speed and direction of the target. The sensors’ Hall elements are photolithographically aligned to 1 micron and are spaced 1.63 mm apart. The temperature-stable device targets use in harsh automotive and industrial environments. Low-drift amplifiers provide symmetry between the switches to maintain signal quadrature. An on-chip regulator allows the use of the device over a 3.8 to 24V operating-voltage range. The A3423 Hall-effect sensor costs $1.78 (1000).
