Maxim Integrated Products MAX4923, MAX4924, MAX4925, and MAX4926: Overvoltage-protection controllers require no integrated charge pump

June 26, 2007

Targeting cell phones, MP3 players, PDAs, and other devices using battery charging from a wall adapter or a USB port, the overvoltage-protection controllers drive external PFETs, drawing a typical supply current of 13 µA. The controllers reduce excessive current drain by using an external PFET, eliminating the need for an integrated charge pump. Available in 1.5×1-mm micro-DFN-6 packages, the MAX4923, MAX4924, MAX4925, and MAX4926 cost 67 cents each (1000).
