Infineon Technologies OptiMOS TDA21220: OptiMOS voltage-regulation MOSFET and DrMOS families have 93% efficiency

March 16, 2010

Part of the vendor’s OptiMOS power-MOSFET portfolio, the 25V OptiMOS device suits voltage regulation in power supplies for computer servers and telecommunications/data-communications switches. The TDA21220 DrMOS device integrate the MOSFETs. The discrete devices come in SuperSO8, CanPak, and 3.3×3.3-mm S3O8 packages. The S3O8 package enables a six-phase converter design in a 1120 mm2. The TDA21220 multichip package integrates two OptiMOS transistors and a driver IC. In a SuperSO8 package, a 1-mΩ 25V OptiMOS device costs $1.40 (2000). The TDA21220 DrMOS devices cost $2.17 (2000).
