Embedded video training

March 14, 2007

SyntheticVisionAs medical, industrial and military systems grow in complexity, designers are incorporating embedded training scenarios and features to shorten the learning curve for new users. The most realistic effects include advanced graphics and video processing to simulate actual usage situations such as a medical procedure or a combat mission. Most of these training subsystems require high-performance graphics computing and display elements along with plenty of I/O to monitor system operation. If you are interested in or are investigating embedded training take a look at some of the whitepapers and videos produced by Quantum3D. According to their website they offer open-architecture image generators based on high-performance hardware and realtime scene management software for visual simulation and training applications. Most of their work has been for military and aerospace applications but the technology could easily transfer to other applied systems.
