XP2 in factory floor, automotive
June 2, 2009
The growing importance of FPGAs outside the data center and communications communities is underscored yet again this week with Lattice Semiconductor Corp.’s announcement of industrial temperature-qualified versions of all members of the XP2 family. Lattice says the industrial versions will be aimed at industrial displays, HMI and M2M systems, robotics, and medical imaging.
The XP2 is based on a 90-nm flexiFlash architecture with embedded flash memory blocks. The family ranges from XP2-5, with 5000 lookup tables, to the XP2-40, with 40,000 LUTs. Industrial packages will include QFPs and ChipScale BGAs.
