The Electronic Design Processes Workshop—EDA’s Secret DAC—Coming April 8,9 in Monterey
Every year in the spring, the industry’s real EDA gurus meet in Monterey to discuss the arc and future of EDA tools and the EDA industry. If you’re involved in designing SOCs or in the development of EDA tools, this “secret DAC” is something you should plan to attend. Yes, it’s held in “Monterey” so you need to talk this one through with your boss, but the Electronic Design Processes Workshop is held at the Monterey Beach Resort, which is actually a Best Western Motel in a Monterey suburb called Sand City, so it shouldn’t be that hard to convince the powers that be that you’re not on a junket.
If you want to have an actual say in the direction, there’s a call for presentations out. Topics under consideration include:
- Cloud computing and the Design Process: a good fit or a forced marriage?
- Beyond 2019 - what will succeed, or at least supplement, CMOS?
- Multi-Core Programming/Implications for the design process
- Process/Device Characterization, Modeling implications, Flow Integration, Scaling, and Migration
- Methodology Trends: Impact of the Design Manufacturing Interface, Interoperability, Impact of the Web, Licensing Models, and Platforms
- Fresh Approaches to Traditional EDA Problems
- 3D ICs
- Is the Analog Revolution Really Here, from ESL down to devices? What will it take for Analog/AMS to be as productized as Digital?
- Status of EDA Industry - How is EDA helping Semi and end-application companies through the current crisis?
