Prelude to the Embedded Systems Conference
This blog is about electronics. It’s not focused on keyboard bangin’, simulatin’, verifyin’, cyberspace-centric design, although those are all important topics and will get their due. This blog is really about ideas, concepts, systems design, and history. It’s about past, present, and future. If you are, were, or want to be an engineer, you understand.
I’ve planned to hit some basic topics along the way, but I’m not quite certain about the final destination. I only promise that the journey will be interesting. “Fascinating,” as Leonard Nimoy’s alter ego might say.
These days, I’m working as a marketeer for a microprocessor IP company, but I never stopped being an engineer. If you’ve got an electron current flowing in your veins along with the red and white cells, you’ll understand.
The engineer in me calls out and commands me to write this column. Stephen King told me it was OK to write this.
As I write this blog on Sunday morning, I’m preparing to attend the Embedded Systems Conference here in San Jose. Al Gore is the keynote speaker on Tuesday. The engineer in me will let you know how it goes.
