Reclaiming Audio from Old Media

Toshiba’s recent announcement of the HD DVD’s imminent demise stirs memories of orphaned media. If you’d like to bring some of your old tapes and records into the digital age, you can play them into your PC and digitize them, assuming you have the old players and that they still work. For example, my Technics SL-23 turntable didn’t work last time I powered it up. MSNBC has an article that might lead you to a solution if you need a new player.
