Video: Live from New York, it’s SNL on Top Again with Dead-On Parodies of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton

September 15, 2008

Shortly after I graduated and started working as a design engineer at HP, a new TV show called Saturday Night Live appeared. Biting social criticism was its stock in trade; political parody one of its main weapons. SNL skewered one well-known Democrat named Hillary and one Republican named Sarah. Watch.

I rarely watch SNL any more, its relevance seemingly buried under more critical commentators such as the Comedy Channel’s Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Last Saturday night was different. So what’s the purpose of putting this video up on my technically oriented blog? It’s to remind you that anything—SNL, a product, a company—can make a comeback. You can do it, if you only want it enough.
