Inexpensive SOC Conference in Newport Beach Quickly Approaches (November 5, 6)
Looking for an inexpensive way to come up to speed with the latest ideas in SOC design? A small conference in Newport Beach may be the answer. This is the 6th International System-on-Chip (SoC) Conference, Exhibit & Workshops run by Professor Farhad Mafie’s Savant Company. This conference has been driven by Mafie’s vision since its inception. I’ve attended all or nearly all of these conferences and have found worthwhile information at each one. I think the conference fee of $399 is pretty darn reasonable and the location is an inexpensive one, the Radisson Hotel near the John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana/Orange County/Anaheim. You should easily be able to talk your boss into a trip to the industrial/commercial part of Newport Beach as opposed to Maui or Lake Como, Italy where some other conferences are held. Think of the two days it’ll cost you to attend and then think of the design time you and your team will save if you get just one good idea from the conference. (Full disclosure: Tensilica is a Platinum Sponsor, I’m presenting, and EDN’s Robert Cravotta is moderating a panel.)

This town on Lake Como is NOT where the 6th International System-on-Chip Conference will be held. It will actually take place in Newport Beach.
