A pinhead dwarfs new power MOSFET, package and all

February 29, 2008

Here’s an impressively small power MOSFET available in a SOT883 package (1.0 x 0.6 mm footprint), just introduced by NXP:

Tiny power MOSFET

The target applications for these are load switches for handheld devices, but you can also use them as external pass devices for boost and buck converters. The PMZ760SN version has a maximum V(ds) of  60V and a max drain current at ambient of 1.22A. The SOT883 is less than a third the size of aSC-75 or -89. Wow. (I got to keep the ruler.)
