2nd-generation Nanospreader also targets HB LEDs

March 25, 2008

Like its first product, the Microspreader, Celsia Technologies’ second-generation product, the Nanospreader, serves to remove heat from processor chips and computing systems by dissipating it over a wide area, and removing life-shortening hot spots. Think  wall-mount LCDs, or laptop computers, where hot spots, are at the least, uncomfortable. Celsius claims that improvements in the heat spreader’s internal structure make for a 66% improvement in thermal transfer over the first generation device. High-brightness LEDs The new, thinner product also targets high-brightness LEDs, whose power and heat density are a challenge for designers seeking to extract as many lumens as possible out of the tiny light sources. Prices for the Nanospreader start at under $2.00.
