IPC connects with Governator, California legislature
IPC will be bringing challenges facing the California electronics industry before the California State Legislature when the group’s California Circuits Association (CCA) presents Sacramento Day on May 20.
The event will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center and will allow attendees a rare opportunity to connect with legislators in face-to-face discourse about industry issues and actions critical to California business.
The day will begin with a CCA networking breakfast and an IPC issue briefing from Fern Abrams, IPC director of government relations and environmental policy, and Richard Crowe, president of Bürkle North America and executive director of IPC CCA.
IPC members will then join members of other industries for an analysis of the issues faced by California businesses at the California Business Legislative Summit, hosted by the California Chamber of Commerce. That’s followed up by the Summit Luncheon, to be keynoted by George Stephanopoulos, chief Washington correspondent for ABC News and former senior advisor to President Bill Clinton.
The electronics supply chain group reports that the afternoon will be allocated to appointments with legislators. A reception and CCA dinner will follow, featuring an informal conversation with Victor Arrañaga, senior manager of government affairs at Applied Materials and a leading lobbyists in Sacramento politics.
If you’re looking to hear Arnold Schwarzenegger’s thoughts on California’s business environment, stay overnight. Event participants who do will be eligible to attend the Sacramento Host Breakfast on May 21, sponsored by the California Chamber of Commerce, which has invited the Governator to address breakfast attendees.
The event costs $375 for IPC members and $435 for non IPC members. Go to www.ipc.org/calendar/2008/SacDay08 for more information.
