Avnet, Arrow land on ‘Best Big Companies’ list
Quick congrats to top distributors Avnet and Arrow on landing on the Forbes 400 Best Big Companies listing in the tech hardware and equipment section.
The listing is a very competitive one with Forbes reporting that 165 of the previous year’s top 400 didn’t make it back in the December 2007 ranking. Forbes ranks not only by financial growth, but also by corporate governance, accounting standards and stringent background checks. In fact, Arrow had been knocked off the listing after its 1999 appearance and made a comeback with this listing after the company delivered an annual 3-year earnings growth rate of 117%.
Also special kudos to Nvidia, which the Forbes list named “company of the year” in large part because of its 2007 recapture of the GPU market lead, a blow to AMD’s ATI acquisition for sure.
