Mercedes G-Class adds LED running lamps

-July 16, 2013

The Mercedes G-Class just got snazzier and more powerful. Tall and boxy, the G63 AMG top-of-the-line model features 544 horse and 560 foot-pounds of torque—if you don’t mind living at the gas station (10 mpg city). That gas is being sucked up by the bi-turbo V8. Clearly, if you are driving this, the price of gas means little, as the price tag is $137,000.

The bright white LED daytime running lamps help increase the visibility of your vehicle to oncoming traffic by illuminating front lights whenever the car is switched on. LED taillights provide more brilliant illumination. Long-lasting, attention-getting LEDs are also used for the brake lamps. Quick illumination offers a driver added response time.

I love how both sensor and LED technology is ramping up so rapidly in automotive apps. Me, I’m much too short, however, to even consider this model.
