In-browser circuit simulator tackles circuits from simple to complex

Analog and mixed-signal simulations should be part of every circuit designer’s toolkit (if only to be able to say what you dislike or distrust about them.) CircuitLab is a brand-new startup from two MIT EE grads that makes circuit simulation about as painless as possible: It’s all within the browser. So when you go to www.circuitlab.com, you can immediately get started with simulating a circuit.

The simulation can be performed in the time-domain or the frequency domain. Circuit elements include op amps, MOSFETs, capacitor, resistors, inductors, digital logic, and so on. Are there limits to the node or component count for simulation? Remarkably, no. “In practice, the limitations of the simulator greatly depend on your circuit, the number of components, and particularly the number of non-linear components like transistors and the topology of how those non-linear components interact with each other. Furthermore, even large circuits should not “crash” the simulator until computer memory limits are reached — they will just simulate quite slowly. If you’re willing to wait for the answers, CircuitLab will try to produce them!”
