Yokogawa enhances ScopeCorder line

Yokogawa has added the models DL850E and DL850EV (Vehicle Edition) to its ScopeCorder line of data-acquisition recorders and oscilloscopes. The two models add features that measure and analyze signals in real-time and they shorten test time in development and troubleshooting power electronics, mechatronics, and transportation systems. The DL850E instruments can perform real-time measurement and analysis on electrical power.

The ScopeCorder DL850EV Vehicle Edition (shown in photo) is designed automotive and railway measurements such as electrical signals, sensors signals, and CAN-bus or LIN-bus data from the power-train management system. Such measurement provides insight into the dynamic behavior of a vehicle's electromechanical systems.

All ScopeCorders include a set of basic math functions that include addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and FFT (fast Fourier transform). The DL850E and DL850EV add the /G5 option, which adds real-time electrical power measurements. Using the /G5 option, you can view trend calculations such as active power, power factor, integrated power, and harmonics at data update rates up to 100ksamples/s. You can view voltage and current waveforms and calculated power measurements, triggering on any or all. Harmonics appear as trends of each order, bar-graphs, and vector diagrams.

The DL850E and DL850EV can accept input modules that let you measure electrical signals, physical parameters from sensors, and data from CAN/LIN buses. A choice of 17 input modules let you configure the instrument with up to 128 channels. The DL850E and DL850EV ScopeCorders can store of up to 2Gsamples of data at sample rates of up to 100Msamples/s on multiple channels simultaneously.

The DL850EV has a DC power option that lets you use it in a vehicle, with power supplied from the vehicle’s DC battery.
