OEM-ready wireless sensor site launches

Steve Taranovich, Senior Technical Editor - April 26, 2012

Monnit Corporation has launched OEMSensors.com with a new line of OEM-ready wireless sensors, gateways and back-end monitoring software targeting broad lines of commercial, industrial and M2M applications.

The launch is designed to address the need for an easily integrated line of wireless sensors into new or existing OEM offerings. This allows for fast time-to-market.

The RF Sensing Platform

The RF sensing platform, with over 24 unique sensor types, has the following key specifications:

-Power Management:
  • Sleep Mode 0.5 µA
  • Transmit 35 mA
  • ~1-5 years life depending on battery configuration

-250' to 350' range (non-line-of-sight)

-High-performance FCC Certified Wireless Module

-Supported frequencies:
  • ISM Band: 902-928 MHz
  • SDR Band: 866-870 kHz
  • ISM Band: 433.05-434.79 MHz

Gateways

OEM wireless gateways act as a bridge between the OEM wireless sensors and the backend monitoring software allowing wireless sensor data to be sent to and stored in the backend software as well as passing sensor configuration parameters to the wireless sensors, updating them remotely.

OEM's can:
  • Purchase white-labeled versions of OEMSensor's gateways.
  • Integrate our APN (access point nodes) into your existing gateways.
  • License our gateway design and build your own.
