Fully integrated ultrasonic signal conditioner drives park or detection apps
EDN Staff - June 3, 2012
A fully integrated, programmable solution for driving ultrasonic transducers in auto park distance, and blind-spot detection apps is now available. Included is a highly configurable burst generator, low-noise amplifier, and 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC. PGA450-Q1 has an 8-bit MCU and OTP memory for program storage to processes echo signals and calculate distance between the transducer and object. The data is transmitted through a LIN 2.1 communication protocol.
The PGA450Q1EVM is available and includes cables, GUI, and example firmware to use with the included sensor for a cost of $99. The PGA450-Q1 comes in a TSSOP-28 package and is available at $2.60 in 1,000 unit quantities.
