OMAP and WiLink provide rich Miracast display over Wi-Fi experience
EDN Staff - June 17, 2012
A complete solution for mobile devices designed to support Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast based on the Wi-Fi Alliance Wi-Fi Display specification displays full HD content on a large screen over a secure, low-latency, wireless connection.
The ‘social sharing’ solution is also available in Android so that wireless casting will be rapidly integrated.
Capabilities include:
- Multitasking while streaming
- End-to-end streaming
- Protected premium content
- Wider content choice for playback
- UI mirroring for big screen gaming
The solution is available now to high-volume OEMs and ODMs. The Miracast solution using OMAP 5 processors and WiLink 80 will be available in late 2012.
