ST adds to STB IC lineup
Carolyn Mathas - January 8, 2013
Two devices join STMicroelectronics STB SoC IC products for high-def terrestrial, cable, IP, Over-the-Top and satellite equipment.
The new devices rely on an enhanced processing engine with integrated on-chip features that enables designers to use lower-costs memory while meeting low-power targets. The products expand access to HD zappers, PVRs, IP clients and dual-HD boxes supporting connected-TV services, information channels and Ott video, gaming, catch up TV and social networking.
The products, housed in 27 x 27mm and 23 x 23mm BGA packages are sampling now to lead customers. Contact company for pricing and availability.
- The STiH253 is a fully featured digital video broadcast device integrating a single DVB-T2 demodulator for highly integrated terrestrial STB.
- The STiH271EL addresses price-sensitive markets that require basic zapper functionality without video performance compromise.
