PIM analyzers offer adjustable transmit power

Well-suited for laboratory and quality assurance tasks, the PIM S1L series of PIM (passive intermodulation) analyzers from AWT Global provides an adjustable RF signal power range of 15 dBm to 44 dBm, along with a soft-start function that ramps up power slowly. The instruments are outfitted with a large 10.2-in. touch-screen display, three USB ports, and an Ethernet interface for connecting to external devices and networks.

Models are available for a range of mobile communications bands, including 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2000 MHz, 2100 MHz, and 2600 MHz. Other bands and customized frequency combinations are available on request. Key specifications include receiver sensitivity of –172 dBc at 2×43-dBm carriers, measurement carrier accuracy of ±0.35 dB, and a noise floor as low as –138 dBm (at 300-Hz bandwidth). Analyzers measure and display up to four intermodulation products simultaneously, including IM3, IM5, IM7, IM9, IM11, and IM13.


Measurement results can be stored internally or externally in numerical form, as PDF reports, or as JPEG screenshots. Each screen offers fields for entering specific DUT or user data, and entries can be made with a keyboard or barcode scanner.
