Transformers work with TI power driver for isolated supplies

-December 07, 2013

Wurth Electronics Midcom offers a series of four transformers for the Texas Instruments SN6501 oscillator/power driver, a push-pull device that is intended for small-form–factor isolated power supplies used in CAN, RS-232, RS-485, SPI, I2C, and low-power LAN interface applications. The transformers provide isolation of 5000 VAC and comply with the requirements of IEC 60601-1 for medical electrical equipment, providing two means of patient protection for working voltages up to 250 VAC. According to the manufacturer, the transformers also furnish the necessary protection in compliance with many other standards defined for the industrial sector.

The series addresses all combinations of 3.3 V and 5 V on the input and output. Transformers operate over a temperature range of –40°C to +125°C and are available with turns ratios of 1.1:1, 1.3:1, 1.7:1, and 2:1. Specifications include a current rating of 150 mA AC and inductance of 340 µH minimum.

Datasheets for the 750313734, 750313638, 750313769, and 750313626 transformers, as well as the TI SN6501 driver, can be found on the SN6501transformer product page.
