PXIe generator is scalable to 44 GHz

With frequency coverage up to 44 GHz and modulation bandwidth up to 1 GHz, Keysight’s M9383A generates complex waveforms for emerging 5G and aerospace/defense applications. The PXIe signal generator also delivers an error vector magnitude of 1%—a critical measure of 5G modulated signal performance—for 800 MHz wide pre-5G waveforms.

Part of Keysight’s 5G testbed reference platform, the M9383A is both scalable and upgradable. Channels can be added to either vector or analog configurations, and frequency, bandwidth, and other performance parameters can be upgraded as signal standards evolve.

Engineers can choose from four frequency options: 1 MHz to 14 GHz, 20 GHz, 31.8 GHz, or 44 GHz. Other system specifications include phase noise of -137 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz (20 kHz offset) and output power of -90 dBm to +10 dBm at 1 GHz. Modulation bandwidths of up to 2 GHz are supported through external IQ inputs.

Prices for the M9383A PXIe analog signal generator start at $25,147. A vector signal generator configuration starts at $69,147. A PXI chassis and controller are required to complete the setup, complemented by a variety of software options, including Signal Studio, Waveform Creator, SystemVue, and MATLAB.
