Therrien Stepping Down as Brooks CEO

Brooks Automation Inc. said today Edward C. Grady, president and COO, would take over the reigns from current chairman and CEO Robert J. Therrien, effective Oct. 1.

Grady will assume the role of CEO, while Therrien will remain as chairman of the board and will serve as a consultant to the company following his retirement on December 31, 2004. Grady's appointment as CEO represents the completion of a process that was initiated with his hiring as president and COO in February 2003 the company said; he was named as a director in September of 2003,and named a Director in September 2003.
