Here WEEE go again

Sunday brings in the new month and a new stage of WEEE, the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulation.

On July 1, take-back and consumer information requirements start, and if you’ve been keeping up with WEEE, it’s no big deal. The stage’s implementation requires that producers of electrical and electronic equipment be responsible for paying for the treatment and recycling of products at the end of their life.

Thankfully, while WEEE will have an impact, the impact won’t be as hard-hitting as, say, a RoHS. It’s also based on recycling, which many companies in the electronics supply chain have been more aware of since environmental compliance began to make headlines three or four years ago.

But for those of you who haven’t been keeping up, here are a few sites that can get you up to speed quickly.
